Hi, I’m Nicole

An accidental designer

that works with small businesses and entrepreneurs, helping them to grow their online presence and automate processes, giving them more time to focus on their customers and the work they love doing.

Been there, done that!

I worked 20+ years in the 24/7 business of hospitality event management.  If you’re not familiar with the industry it is a ton of fun but very high stress, deadline driven, and often riddled with broken processes.  Any small business owner can relate to those feelings but is driven by the passion for what they do.  That is why I stayed in the industry for so long.  I loved my clients and helping them create a memorable experience for their customers.

The owner of Access Designs LLC, Nicole, is a fair skinned woman with medium dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a beautiful smile that got her the name 'smiley' for many years

But I knew there was more…..

I always had the itch to own my own business, from way back in elementary school.  I took the ‘lemonade stand’ business model and tried selling homemade ornaments.  Spoiler alert, no one is interested in ornaments in the blazing heat of the summer…..LOL.

In this day and age of online businesses galore, it can be hard and even overwhelming to ‘find your “niche.”  I feel so lucky to have found web design and digital accessibility.  I get to work with all kinds of small businesses, helping them showcase their products and services and grow their dreams.

It’s not all business here. Work-life balance is a real thing, for most people. I love running my own business for many reasons but mostly because it allows me freedom to explore new things and spend time with the ones I love. So you should know I am a believer of the ‘Calm Business’ method, hussle culture is not for me.

What to know about your designer

I am an easy-going, introverted, mom of two boys. I do what I need to on social media, but am not a huge fan. I’d much rather spend my time gardening while sipping on my beverage of choice….endless ice water! And yes, I love hippos 🦛

Be honest, building a website is not your thing.

Back to you

AND THAT’S OK!

As a small business owner we often think we need to do it all ourselves. But when we do that we are wasting two very precious things, time and money.

You wouldn’t defend yourself in court, nor would you perform surgery on yourself. Ok, maybe those are extreme examples but if you are a jewelry maker would you re-wire your house? Or if you are a landscaper would you offer nutrition consultations? Probably not.
