Demonstrate your commitment to accessibility, promote an inclusive brand image, and expand your customer base

With over one billion people throughout the world living with a disability, creating an accessible website isn’t just a ‘nice to have,’ it is a ‘MUST HAVE.’

By optimizing your website for accessibility, you will tap into a vast and underserved market. Captivating this audience will significantly improve your brand reputation, attract more website traffic, boost engagement and conversions, and ultimately is just the right thing to do.

The Right Steps to Accessibility

Everyone on the web deserves access to your small business, here’s how I can help

Comprehensive Accessibility Audit

I conduct a thorough audit of your website, including code analysis, content assessment, and usability testing. This audit helps identify barriers in your current design and content that may prevent access for individuals with disabilities.

WCAG Conformance

I ensure your website meets or exceeds the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 & 2.2, an internationally recognized set of standards. This includes optimization for screen readers, keyboard navigation, alt-text for images, color contrast, and more.

Ongoing Support & Updates

I recognize that accessibility is an ongoing journey. I provide ongoing support and maintenance to ensure your website remains accessible as technology and regulations evolve. I stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices, making necessary updates to ensure your compliance.

It’s Time To Start Your Website Audit & Remediation Project

Web accessibility is a complex topic, but I keep the process simple for both my sanity and yours.

The Audit Process

I conduct a comprehensive functional and manual accessibility audit of your entire website to ensure that all individuals, regardless of abilities, can navigate and interact with your content with ease. The functional audit involves using automated tools to scan your website for accessibility issues within the code, while the manual audit engages human user testing to check the website for usability and to identify any potential barriers. This thorough process allows me to pinpoint the specific areas requiring improvement, such as optimizing keyboard navigation, ensuring proper heading structure, providing alternative text for images, and fixig broken forms and links. I compile this data to create an easy to follow spreadsheet that is broken down by page and category.

Delivering Accessibility

In most cases, the necessary website remediations will go completely unnoticed by your customers. There is no need to plan for a relaunch or coming soon announcement, unless you want to do that. Once all the remediations are done and/or submitted to your hosting platform, I will provide you with an Accessibility Statement to link on your website. I understand the significance of transparency, which is why this statement outlines the measures I have implemented to achieve this goal AND includes a detailed list of items I know are still in limbo (what might need to be repaired by your chosen web platform). Through these concerted efforts, I aim to set an industry benchmark for website accessibility while emphasizing my unwavering dedication to fostering an inclusive digital environment.

Remediation Time

The remediation process is tedius and time consuming, so I am taking this on so you can keep your focus on running your small business. I will ensure you are compliant with the ADA laws and conform to the WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 guidelines. My commitment to website accessibility remediations reflects my dedication to fostering an equitable digital environment and ensuring that everyone can access and interact with my clients' websites seamlessly. The data I compiled will be carefully reviewed and each item will be verified as accessible or needing attention from your hosting platform. Don’t worry, if there are any items that would affecgt the design or layout of your website, that will be discussed with you in advance and a time would be agreed upon as to when to make those changes.

!!! BONUS !!!

Part of making an inclusive brand is ensuring ALL of your content is accessible. Included in the Full Audit & Remediation Package is document remediation. Just like your website, I will inspect any documents you provide for your clients (i.e. e-books, course workbooks, free checklists, guides, etc). Getting this service in the package could save you several hundred dollars compared to ordering document remediation ala carte.

As technology evolves and accessibility guidelines continue to advance,

Dedication, transparency, and empathy are the core values I live and work by.
